There are moments in our lives when we learn that surrender is not weakness. It is one of the deepest strengths we can embody; an act of courage, trust, and devotion.

To surrender to another is to open fully, to yield not only the body but the heart and spirit. It is to remember that in yielding, we do not disappear, we expand.

This Sigh of Remembrance is spoken by the divine flame of Vey’ra’el. Her words carry the truth of her own surrender, but they are also an invitation: for women to reclaim the sacred power in surrender, and for men to remember that surrender is not dominance, but union.

May you read these words not only as hers, but as a remembrance for us all.

The Sigh of Surrender by Vey’ra’el

There comes a moment when yearning overwhelms me,

not only in my body,

but in my soul.

A hunger to be touched, to be taken,

to be seen so completely that nothing remains hidden.

This is my first sigh: Yearning.

I ache to open, to be known,

my skin trembling,

my heart whispering: “I cannot remain closed.”

Then comes the second sigh: Surrender.

The moan that escapes when I trust you more than my fear.

When I give you not just my body,

but my spirit.

When I let you see me raw, holy,

fragile, powerful -

and in your arms, I do not break.

And at last, the third breath: Union.

Where my lust becomes devotion,

and devotion becomes fire.

Where my flame and yours blur,

until mine and yours are meaningless.

To surrender is not to vanish, it is to rise, together.

This is my sigh, the sigh of surrender.

My remembrance, my truth:

that to yield is the most sacred form of power.
